Walking on eggshells.

When we collect the eggs we bring them inside, write a date on them in greylead pencil, then store them in the fridge. Miss Muff is quite good at the whole procedure now. She can open the gate to the chook pen now, shooshes the chooks out of the way, collects the eggs, says "thankyou chookies" then brings the eggs inside. Then with whatever writing implement she can find, does a little drawing on the egg then pops them in the fridge. This is where things sometime come unstuck. When you are two its very hard to hold on to an egg and open the fridge door at the same time. I heard the familiar crunchy thud on the floor today and waited for her to come and tell me but there was silence. I came to investigate a little while later to find this.......

The kitchen sponge and big brothers hair water spray bottle from the bathroom, obviously trying to clean it all up but instead making a fine old mess. It was pretty cute and good thinking I thought. Needless to say the sponge is in the bin, gumboots washed and we might find a new location to put eggs after they are collected.
Note: we have just enough hair now to put a "pretty" in it.

  1. I'm impressed that Miss Muff had a go at cleaning up. I bet you didn't mind a bit having to do another clean up after her attempt.

  8. Cute, the main thing is that she tried to clean it up, other littlies her age that I know would have had no idea what to do. You will be able to make some "pretties" for her hair now.
