Fire wood.

We had a nice day today.  A last minute decision to have a trip to Bendigo.  I went to Spotlight which was a bit of a waste of time.  Its only a temporary store because the other store was damaged in the fires during Summer so they don't have a lot of stock.  I did buy some press studs and some boxes to store selvedges and some other goodies in my sewing room.  I also priced some overlockers in a couple of different shops.  I think I'll get a Jamome or Elna, will just wait for a good special to come up.
We also bought a passionfruit vine today.
Just after we got home we had a couple of tonne of firewood delivered so we spent the next hour or so stacking it.  Everyone helped.  We usually source and cut our own but this year we don't seem to be able to find the time.  My husband said its easier to go and drive a tractor for a few hours and then pay for a load than do all the hard work yourself.  I don't mind either way as long as we don't run out of wood.  This should keep us going for a while.

  1. We are gonna fetch next years stock of firewood, next weekend. We get it free for the work-effort from my mother :) Nice to have a warm fire in the winter-time.

  3. Nice stack of firewood! We heat our whole house with wood in the winter too, but since it's spring here in the US we finally get a break from it for a while! Have a great weekend! :0)

  6. It's just so satisfying when you have that wood stack all replenished, ready for freezing winter days.

  7. We put our fire on yesterday, so lovely and cosy, but we don't have anywhere as much wood as you do.

  8. That looks a lot like our stack we got yesterday. It is stacked in the drive too, and looks the same amount. Our trailer needs new tyres, our chainsaw was stolen as well. It was the first time my husband used his new replacement chainsaw with a borrowed trailer.
