Channel surfing!!!

A brief stint of sowing on the tractor this morning, note co-pilot in passenger seat.

We had our water ordered for 8am but it didn't come until about 11am so we might be up late tonight finishing our irrigating.  This is where the water comes through the wheel and into our property.

These are the paddocks we were working on over Christmas.  I thought it looked great with one dry and the other full of water.  We will eventually plant tress all the way down this check bank (raised section between paddocks used to direct water flow).

This is the funniest thing I have seen for ages.  In one section of our new channel we have a pipe with a stopper the goes to the other side of the farm.  When the first side of the farm is watered we open the stop and let the water through the the remaining paddocks.
Here is "Sailor Sam" waiting for the tidal wave to come through as Dad opens the stop.

And off he goes..............
The water here was only about 30cms deep here.
We had to close the stop and do it again so he could perfect his surfing technique.
The video is hilarious.  I couldn't quite capture the excitement with still photos.

  1. A moment to remember!

  2. Isn't it amazing sometimes how entertaining a little water (and mud) can be? :0)
