My talented Mum and brother.

I had some fun today.  My photographer brother has come to visit before he moves to Sydney.  We ventured to a local cactus farm and winery to take some photos of our latest quilts.  These two quilts were made recently by my Mum.  The first one is her kaleidoscope quilt.  This photo was taken at the winery in an 1880's restored train carriage.

This second quilt is a star quilt that Mum mostly designed herself.  It is a combination of different star patterns she liked.  The floating star border looks fantastic, it took some working out I believe to get correct but it looks great.

  4. What a fabulous setting for a couple of absolutely gorgeous quilts. I agree with Quilter going Bananas -- your Mom's star quilt is fantastic and a pattern for it would be great!
